"Superheroes"

So, this cake was the second one for my friend's grandson. He wanted his favorite superheroes. Obviously, this cake was a gift and isn't for sale because of those pesky licensing issues, but it's pretty dang cute.

Paulie the Penguin

This was for my friend's grandson. He likes a penguin named Paulie so we made him this wee tiny cake just for him.

Castles Made of Sand

This was an sand castle for my friends Rob and Gwen. They got married in Mexico and wanted to recreate the beachy atmosphere for their reception here. Everything on and around this cake is edible, including the sand.

It's a nice day for a.........

....white wedding cake. It was actually an anniversary cake, but it's very much wedding appropriate. The tiers are spaced and edged with hand made white sugar roses.

Charmed, I'm sure.

I made this cake for my friend Kristi's birthday. I tried a new spin on the gift box cake by making the lid out of gumpaste.

Inside the gift box was a fondant charm bracelet. It's hard to tell here, but it was brushed with shimmery silver dust so it was fancy. The charms are all "inspired" by Disney stuff, which the birthday girl loves.

The lid was a challenge because after I put the bow on, it started to collapse a bit. I had to do some re-engineering but it all worked out.

Aloha!

This cake was for my sister and bro-in-law's 15th wedding anniversary. They love Hawaii and I love Hawaii and I wanted to make a cake about Hawaii so it all worked out for everyone. The base had a grass skirt and the surfboards were hand-painted fondant.

Bunnies in the Meadow

This is a shower cake I did based on the bedding for the nursery.
