Sparkling Wine

This was the last wine cake of the week. It was a 30th birthday cake and I wanted to do something kind of girly and sparkly. I made a little brooch from dragees and icing pearls to jazz up the bow.

A Fine Vintage

This is the second of three wine cakes for this week. This is not a new concept, but I tried to make them unique and this was a birthday cake for a gentleman and I wanted to make it masculine.

Maya's Cake

This cake was designed by my friend Maya. She's about turn 7 and she has an awesome imagination. It's a pizza with her on it and a pig eating off the side.

Don't wine about it

Come and visit the letter people, come and meet the family.....

This cake was one for which I didn't have a theme or anything so I decided to do something fun with letters. This cake would be great for anyone, unless your name is sreally, really long, in which case I can make two cakes with a hyphen in between. It's hard to tell in the photo, but the cake was a pale pink with chocolate accents.
**Yes, those are toothpicks sticking out under the letters. This was taken before it was picked up and I wanted to make sure they made it home okay.

Blame Canada!

This was a Canadian themed cake for a corporate event. Each tier represents a different "area" of British Columbia with the bottom layer representing the city, the middle a snowy forest and the top is the mountain peak with a tiny ski chalet.

Al's Florida House

So, this cake was for my best girl Liz's dad Al. He and Liz's mom have a house in Florida that they stay in most of the year and thought it would be nice to immortalize it in cake for his birthday. There are lots of private jokes in this cake that I won't get into, but I hope he enjoyed it. This was honestly one of my favorite cakes to make and to look at. The elements were all super fun and I learned lots of new techniques to use in the future.
